Welcome to Getsmo. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our platform, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.

By accessing or using Getsmo, you agree to this policy. We process all personal data in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

2. Information We Collect

Required Account Data

To create an account and secure your access, we require your Full Name, Email Address, Username, a Profile Icon Choice, and the Subjects you wish to study. The profile icon is a display preference, not a sex or gender field. This is the minimum data required to operate your account and provide you with personalized study materials.

Optional Educational Data

You may optionally provide your University/School, Program/Major, and Year Level. We use this optional data to enable future community features, such as school-specific leaderboards and tailored curriculum recommendations. You can add or remove this information at any time.

Payment Information

All payments are securely processed by our third-party payment provider, Ganap.net. Getsmo does not directly collect, process, or store your full credit card details or financial information.

3. Public vs. Private Data

We draw a strict line between what is private and what is visible to the community:

  • Strictly Private: Your Real Name, Email Address, and Payment History will never be shared with other users or third-party marketers.
  • Community Data: If you participate in community features (such as leaderboards), your Username, Profile Icon, School, Program, and Study Statistics (e.g., scores, streaks) may be visible to other Getsmo users.

4. Data Storage and Third Parties

Your data is securely stored using Supabase, our database infrastructure provider. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers. We only share data with essential infrastructure providers (like Supabase and Ganap.net) necessary to operate the platform.

5. Your Rights & Account Deletion

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to be informed, to access, and to erase your data.

You may permanently delete your account at any time through your account settings. Deleting your account will instantly wipe or anonymize your personal data from our active systems. Please note: Deleting your account voluntarily revokes your access to any active Premium pass (e.g., the 150-day access), and no prorated refunds will be provided.

6. Children's Privacy

Getsmo is strictly intended for university students and adults. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use our platform. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
